Location: Occidental College
This unique book structure is the perfect way to house small found objects and collage elements within a book. The storage book was originally designed by Hedi Kyle; this concertina binding incorporates double cardstock pages that allow space for mylar windows, cutouts, enclosures and more! Zoom in on particular parts of images, store found objects within pages, and discover unexpected combinations as you look through the pages of your book. Macy will bring an assortment of images and materials to work with for creative play.
Macy Chadwick publishes artist’s books and limited edition prints under the imprint In Cahoots Press in Oakland, California. Through her work she addresses themes of memory, personal communication and visual language systems. She is interested in the connection between people: interactions both verbal and non-verbal, shared experiences, and the urge to communicate clearly. http://www.macychadwick.com
Workshop fee: $135 for members. $175 for non-members. Materials fee: $20 (Macy will provide all paper and supplies.) Registration deadline is May 20, 2017
