In this workshop, students will be introduced to creative and innovative book structures using that most wondrous of humble materials, paper, and basic tools. Inspired by innovators in the book arts field such as Claire van Vliet and Hedi Kyle, the focus will be on form and structure rather than content. Each student will produce a collection of sample books that can be used as reference and inspiration for further projects.
I teach a lot of folded forms classes around the state and will select the forms for this session based on who registers and which forms will be new to everyone in the class.
This class is suitable for all skill levels, ages 16 and older.
I provide all the materials, many of them pre-cut, for this class. I also provide a basic tool set for each student. Students should bring a notebook/pencil for taking notes and an apron (or wear studio clothes).
