Learn how to recycle plant trimmings and transform them into beautiful baskets!
This class is taught by award winning basket artist Nadine Spier. You will learn how to coil a basket around an unusual stone center and to weave so your stitches line up on both sides of the basket. The instructor has developed a technique of weaving around stones and other ornate objects. You will later find yourself looking for fun things such as brooches or pendants to use as centers for future baskets. You will be provided with flexible pine needles and Irish waxed linen thread, but your new skills can later be used to weave many common plants such as Dusty Miller, Lavender, Rosemary, and Jacaranda. Basket weaving is a wonderful way to channel away stress. Class size limited. This popular instructor’s classes fill up quickly – early enrollment is suggested.
