Custom fields can help structure and standardize the way information is organized on a calendar, allowing users to easily add information and find it back when it is needed.
Teamup provides different custom field types: text, choice, and number.
When you create a custom field, think about the kind of information you want to capture with that field. Choose the field type that makes it easiest for users to capture that information.
A multiple choice field, a number field, and a formatted text field.
Use a single-line text field for short notes, keywords, phone number, email address, and links to websites, documents, job sites or meeting points.
Use a formatted text field for detailed descriptions, lengthy instructions, internal notes, or summaries.
Use a number field for dollar amounts, hour estimates, prices, weights, ,o;es or number of pages or words.
Use a choice field for status updates, ratings, booking options, requirements, and event types, etc.
Choice fields can be single-choice or multiple-choice.
Use a single-choice field when users should only be able to select one option at a time: distinct project phases, workflow steps, yes/no questions, distinct status options (e.g. paid or unpaid, on hold or in progress).
Use a multiple-choice field when users need to add more than one option to the field: options for a booked space, overlapping event categories (e.g. family-friendly and outdoors), concurrent status options.
