Multi-Sensory Approach to Literacy - Session 1 Recording
DESCRIPTION:
Session 1: Laying the Foundations for Literacy
This first session will focus on essential experiences to undergird literacy and on understanding how to support concept development through stories.
Session 2: Tactile Development
This session will focus on understanding how to support tactile development through stories for tactile learners and children at the initial stages of accessing braille.
Session 3: Creating Accessible Stories
This final session will focus on how to create stories linked to fictional books and everyday experiences.
PRESENTER:
Gwyn McCormack has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of education and vision impairment. She spent many years as a secondary school teacher and as a qualified teacher of vision impairments before founding Positive Eye in 2008. Gwyn is committed to improving outcomes for children with vision impairments by providing practitioners with practical based, solution-focused strategies and approaches.

This course is available for Fall 2022 inservice credit through the University of Idaho (UI). Enrollment for this course opens November 2, 2022 and closes November 18, 2022.
