Series Title: Assistive Technology in Minutes: New, Cool, and Awesome Solutions for Students with Severe Disabilities
Presenter: Therese Willkomm, Ph.D., is an assistive technology guru that will demonstrate how unlikely objects can be simple, budget-friendly, AT solutions.
Session 1 (February 18): Creating Low Cost Assistive Technology Solutions for Communication Impairments. Session 1 will discuss and demonstrate over 50 different solutions created in minutes to assist students who experience a communication impairment to quickly communicate.
Session 2 (February 25): Creating Low Cost Assistive Technology Solutions for Physical Disabilities. Session 2 will discuss and demonstrate over 50 different solutions created in minutes to assist students who experience upper and low extremity impairments.
Session 3 (March 3): Creating Low cost Assistive Technology Solutions for Reading, Writing, Learning and Demonstrating Skill Acquisition. Session 3 will discuss and demonstrate over 50 different solutions created in minutes to assist students who experience difficulties in reading, writing, learning and skill acquisition.
CREDIT:
This course is available for Spring 2019 inservice credit through the University of Idaho (UI). Registration for this course opens February 18, 2020 and closes March 13, 2020.
