In this one-day class you will create a one-color block print that you can use to print numerous copies of an image of your choosing. These prints will then be adhered to a premade card with envelope. You will be making about a dozen cards during the class, and you will be able to recreate this process at home to make more cards.
This class is geared to first time block printers, but those with experience are very welcome. The first ½ of class will be spent developing and cutting out your design from the block. In the second ½ of class we will print the blocks and create the cards.

Instructor and bio: During the last ten years, Jan Branham retired to Bainbridge Island after a 35-year career as a public high school art teacher in California. She has since become a full-time printmaker, which she finds very satisfying and artistically nourishing. Jan primarily works using collage and other printmaking techniques such as etching, linocut, woodblock, and collagraph, as well as the mixing of media to satisfy her image curiosity.
Jan currently works with several groups of printmakers as well as being an active member of BARN’s Print Studio. She has been included in a number of local and national shows, from Port Townsend to Brooklyn.
