Parks on the Air: A New Way to Experience the Outdoors

After a full day of birding, hiking, or plant walks, you don’t have to pack it in, you can add a whole new layer to your time in the field. Join Texas Master Naturalist, Erik Wolf, for an introduction to Parks on the Air (POTA) and amateur radio, where a park visit can turn into a chance to connect with people in other parks, across the country, and around the world. Whether you grab your coffee and radio in the morning or wind down after a day birding, it’s a fun, hands-on way to blend the outdoors with a little technology and exploration. If you enjoy being outside and are curious about trying something different in our parks, come see what it’s all about.
About our Speaker:
Erik Wolf is a Texas Master Naturalist who enjoys all things outdoors from birding and foraging, to hunting and fishing. He’s naturally curious and always looking to find new ways to experience nature. He enjoys sharing what he learns with others.
