[Translated from website] It introduces us to the basic foundations of folding structures through one of the most well-known and used folds, the V-fold. This type of fold clearly reflects the fundamental principles of folding, which is applied to paper, but also allows us to export its behavior to other materials, such as fabrics, plastics, metal, etc. The course starts with basic and transversal knowledge of any folding process and then delves into the geometry and construction of the V-folds.
The workshop is structured in two phases:
1st.- Individual preparation:
Composed of 8 videos that describe step by step each of the exercises to be carried out and that will guide the learning process. These exercises aim to develop the manual skill of material management in creating folds and to understand how the process of transforming the sheet from its two-dimensional to three-dimensional state works.
The videos will be accompanied by a document (PDF) proposed exercises that must be carried out before participating in the online Tutoring.
This phase will start once the participant has registered for the course.
A minimum of 7 days is recommended for this preparation stage.
2nd.- Online tutoring
A one-hour online tutoring session on the Meet platform in small groups of five people.
This tutorial is intended to closely follow the work carried out during the preparation phase, clarify doubts, give advice and delve into some aspects.
Register here to select one of the dates and times below (current as of Jun 25, 2020). The session are currently on available in Spanish and Italian. English session are forth coming.
