The event will highlight a mapping of terrorist and conflict activity, socioeconomic conditions and rainfall patterns in the Sahel, and will present perspectives from farmers, herders, fishers, and youth. It will also spotlight innovative approaches helping to better understand and respond to climate insecurity, providing important context for CT and PVE. The event is organized in partnership with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), and the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), and is co-sponsored by the Permanent Mission of Canada, the Permanent Mission of Norway, and the Permanent Mission of Mozambique.Â
