Think of this as letterpress without the letters. Almost. Because whatever letters we do use will be big and manageable. We might even print some upside down. Along the way we will surprise ourselves with a few discoveries. Most of the experiments will result in abstract prints.
Working with transparent inks and overprinting, in broad, quick strokes, we will emphasize familiarity with the press. You can expect to learn the mechanics of pressure and position. The aim is to prepare you to use the press independently.
You might end up with something suitable for framing.
Letterpress experience is a plus but not required. Printmakers welcome!
