Texas Stream Team Riparian Evaluation training with the San Marcos River Rangers.
E. coli Bacteria monitoring is intended to build on a Standard Core monitoring session, and involves performing tests for E. coli to determine the relative risk of swimming (contact recreation) in a water body. These tests involve safely collecting samples from water bodies, preparing, plating, & incubating samples, and the visual analysis of colony growth; some fine motor control is necessary to participate.
We will learn indoors, outdoors, and along shorelines, so please come prepared for the environment & weather! Training locations are generally accessible but may require participants to move over dirt track, trail, & shorelines.
