Lifesaving Development Camp

A 5 day/4 night camp based at Chiton Rocks SLSC and the south coast beaches/pool to develop lifesaving, leadership  and aquatic search & rescue skills for 16 & 17 year olds. It is an ideal opportunity for those who are looking to push their lifesaving skills & build a knowledge of emergency operations. The week is equally challenging & rewarding.

Participants will undertake the following awards:

• Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue (SMAR)
• Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or proficiency/update)
• Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate (or proficiency/update)
• PUA30319 - Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search and Rescue)*

*this attracts SACE points and can assist individual's ATAR

Prerequisites:

• 2022-23 registered and financial member of South Australian SLSC
• Proficient (31/12/23 expiry) Bronze Medallion 
• Hold current Provide First Aid certificate (click here to view SLSSA courses available)
• Competent open water swimmer and able to dive to 3m

Please note that there is some pre-camp online coursework which MUST be completed prior to 9/12/22

3. Camp participation numbers are capped at 16; Clubs may be asked to prioritise EOIs from their own members
