Join Gina for an afternoon of book arts play as we alter old text blocks into exciting paper sculptures. Part demonstration, part exploration; you will learn techniques for altering books such as positive and negative cutting, crimp folding and unbinding/rebinding. If you can’t bring yourself to cut up old books, I will have some small notebooks that we can alter. Text blocks, notebooks, waxed linen thread, tape, thin cutting mat, templates, and instructions will be provided for this class.
To bring: craft knife and extra blades, scissors, cutting mat, ruler, pencil, bone folder, scoring tool, and awl. Optional: a book you would like to alter.
