WHAT:
IOLS Training is a fun-filled overnighter and program of hands-on skill training designed to help Scout and Venturing leaders master the basic skills necessary for a scout to advance from Tenderfoot to First Class.
TIME:
Saturday, October 19 7:30 a.m. thru Sunday, October 20 4:30 p.m.
COST:
Registration: $45.00 (after 10/11: $55, if space available)
No Walk-in Registration. Fees include Includes all meals and a great cracker barrel after the Campfire!.
This is a fun-filled program of hands-on skill training in the outdoors, designed to help you master the basic camping skills required to advance from Tenderfoot to First Class Scout.
The course’s Troop Guides will help you learn how to set up camp, cook, work with woods tools and about ropes, first aid, planning campfire programs, map reading and compass skills, hiking and packing techniques, nature identification and Leave No Trace. These sessions will bring to life the pages of the Boy Scout Handbook to help you deliver the promise of Scouting to the youth you serve. You will also have an opportunity to work with other Scout leaders from our area, meet new friends and reinforce skill techniques with fellow unit leaders.
