In this workshop, students will learn to create 8 different book structures from single sheets of paper. From basic manipulations of paper size to more advanced cutting, folding, and pasting techniques, students will come away from this class with a suite of miniature books enclosed within a paper wrapper. Structures covered include 3 single sheet books with variations for revealing hidden content, snake fold, Turkish map fold, 2 styles of continuous flexagons, and a Tetraflexagon. Students will also create an accordion booklet with pop-up instructions to include in the set for future reference.
Students in this class will be provided with a materials list in advance of the class as well as printer friendly binding instructions to allow students to bind along with the instructor during the demonstration.
This is an online class. Information about participating by zoom will be sent to all participants in advance. We encourage you to enroll early so you can gather the materials and supplies and work along during the class.
