Even when we must practice physical distancing, art making offers us powerful ways to relate and connect. Explore mini memoirs and how bits of your life can be shaped into a meaningful form. Look at examples for inspiration, cover content development, learn simple zine or book structures, and get tips on making multiples.
This participatory virtual workshop will include both large and small group conversations.

Instructor and bio: Regula Russelle has loved teaching book arts classes to community members and college students for many years. These days she focuses on artist practice, paper vessel-making, and content development of small, hand-made books and zines, mostly at MCBA. It’s always inspiring for her to see a delightful variety of projects take shape in class. The content of her own work includes responding to climate change, culture-making, family memoir, and kitchen table poetry. Her biggest “hit” so far are her free zines on Earth Care Practice with distribution numbers of over 7,300.
