In this virtual workshop of serious fun, experiment with a new approach for telling stories by working with paper sculpturally to make clothing and accessories as metaphor and fashion. Béatrice will introduce her process for cutting designs into Tyvek and paper to make scarves, jewelry, hats, and masks. Then participants can choose what they’d like to work on. In addition to papercutting techniques, instruction will cover ways to research ideas and draft compositions, as well as pop-up and paper sculpture techniques to make paper dimensional. Adaptation to other materials such as glass or metal, and digital possibilities of 3D programs and animations, will also be discussed.
