Literacy Volunteers of South Central Mass
Literacy Volunteers of South Central Massachusetts (LVSCM) trains volunteers to provide free, individualized and confidential tutoring in basic literacy or conversational English to adults. LVSCM volunteers tutor adults in Sturbridge, Southbridge, Charlton, Webster, Dudley and the neighboring communities. There are adults in your community who are waiting for a tutor, and you can help. No teaching experience is required! Professional tutor training is provided.
No need to speak another language. Our approach to beginner ESOL tutoring utilizes everyday, survival English that our tutors are trained to teach.
LVSCM asks for a commitment of two hours per week of tutoring for 9-12 months.
