Join the System Composter for a live conversation with Vijay Kumar, inviting an inquiry around the why and how of a system in transition, the interconnectedness of food production, community-supported decision making, and social well-being.
Vijay Kumar has been active in the transformation of social systems for much of his life. Weaving different interconnected elements: the way decisions are taken, the way resources are produced and distributed, and the way communication can happen. His dream of heralding a Natural Farming era is coming true after his retirement from a long career, mostly working on in Tribal and Rural development. Much of his work focussed on empowering women in their communities, leading to social mobilisation, increased wellbeing, food and financial independence. Since 2016 he is Government Advisor for Agriculture and Cooperation. He is leading the implementation of climate resilient Zero Budget Natural Farming in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh in India. The nodal interventions made within that project are having a profound impact throughout the social system, from increasing food security to changing gender power dynamics.
