The calendar administrator is any authorized person who has administrator access to the calendar. Administrator access is significantly different than all other permission levels, because it gives full access to all calendar settings.
⚠️ The calendar settings allow full control over the entire master calendar, users, and data. It's very important to only provide administrator privileges to people with the correct authorization and understanding.
Typically, even in large organizations, you do not need more than one or two authorized people to function as calendar admins.
People in the organization who need to manage calendar events do not need to be administrators. Instead, they can have modify access.
Companies with multiple supervisors, schedulers, or others who need to manage calendar events can use the modify permission to safely allow these individuals to do their work, without giving unneeded administrative access to the calendar.
We recommend that you customize access for each person using the calendar. This makes the calendar more secure and helps eliminate errors and conflicts.
For example, the Team A Supervisor needs to manage her team's schedule. She doesn't need to change events for Team B or Team C. So she can have modify access to all of Team A's sub-calendars. To view the schedule for other teams, she can have read-only access to their calendars.
This kind of customized access gives Team A Supervisor full control over her own team's scheduling, allows her to see all the calendars she needs to see, and prevents her from accidentally changing the schedule for members of other teams.
Teamup supports 9 permission levels so you can customize access efficiently and securely for everyone.
