The Benalla Boardgame Project - 2025 Benalla Street Art Festival fringe event

Join us during the 2025 Benalla Street Art Festival at the RATT Rooms in the Gliding Club of Victoria for the very first The Benalla Boardgame Project!

Listen to Alex Wynnter, a boardgame designer from Melbourne talk about art and good boardgame design. Stay for a catered lunch and then work with others to create the Benalla Boardgame, a game where the premise is you're a tourist visiting Benalla.

Choose photos of places to do and see in Benalla and stick them to a preprepared board. Create information cards, luck cards, 3D print meeples, and decide how players move their meeples around the board to get the most out of their holiday to Benalla.

And then if you want, join us at Room at the Table Inc for a regular Saturday Night Boardgames from 5-10pm and play test the games created in the afternoon.

The boardgames created during the workshop will be prototypes and still be a long way off from being a finished and polished game.

12-1pm Lunch Break - join us for lunch!

1-4pm Create a game about holidaying in Benalla in groups of 4 or more

IMPORTANT:

! Lunch will be a catered affair (sandwiches, slices, fruit), $5 per person (cash or card). Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

The RATT Studio Team will be filming Alex's talk and some of the workshop. There will be media release forms available to sign if you are happy to be filmed on the day
