I will talk about the way mankind has made sense of pandemic through myth and iconography. I will try to show how art and imagination have been used to regulate affective experience in function of social control, until the current metaphor of war on virus, that draws on people fear and anxiety, cultivating what I call "atmos-fear", am existential condition of undefined concern which is used to channell collectiv e and individual affect.
