Reconfiguring and Appropriating Arabic, Persian, and Indic Literary Traditions in Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century Britain: Orientalism and the Recreation of the Islamicate Canon
I am delighted to invite you to the presentation of my book Reconfiguring and Appropriating Arabic, Persian, and Indic Literary Traditions in Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century Britain: Orientalism and the Recreation of the Islamicate Canon, just published with Oxford University Press.
It will be a short presentation from myself followed by the respondent contributions of Dr Majid Daneshgar, Associate Professor of area studies at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, and Dr Michele Petrone, researcher in The European Qur’an ERC project, based at Napoli L’Orientale.
I look forward to what promises to be an engaging moment for all and would like to thank the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge and the Interfaith Programme for hosting the event.
