The Right Reverend Carl Walter Wright, Bishop Suffragan for the Armed Services and Federal Ministries, will preach at the Celebration of Blessed Absalom Jones (1746 -1880), the first black person ordained as an Episcopal priest. Do you want to participate in the celebration?
Each parish is invited to send a banner bearing acolyte and there is room for some torch bearers. Please tell us who you will be sending and if you want to include torch bearers. Naturally, you will want bring your banner and its stand and if you would like to send torch bearers you will need to bring torches and their stands. Each participant should be vested as is the custom at your parish. Plan to arrive at least thirty minutes early (9:00 am), to allow for set-up.
