Good Evening Nahant residents, this is Tony Barletta, Town Administrator calling with an important Public Health announcement regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine.
Currently Nahant does not have the capability to manage a COVID-19 Vaccine clinic on our own. However we are partnering with the City of Lynn and we are setting up a Vaccine clinic that will be available to Lynn and Nahant residents. We hope to announce the details of that clinic as early as tomorrow.
There are also many sites available to all Massachusetts residents throughout the Commonwealth. Please visit mass.gov for vaccine clinic information: https://www.mass.gov/.../covid-19-vaccination-locations...
We understand that the scheduling and registration process for Vaccine clinics can be confusing and frustrating. We also know that the availability of the vaccine is limited. This leads to appointments being very difficult to secure.
That is why we are offering assistance with that process by dedicating 4 phones lines to help our elderly residents with the online registration process for vaccines.
If you are eligible for Phase 2 of the vaccine, please call any of our four hotlines at 781-581-7557, 781-771-8222, 781-771-5632, or 781-771-6230 during normal Town Hall hours, Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4:00pm and Fridays 7:30am-12:30pm.
While we do not have any unique access to appointments, we can provide live assistance to our residents as appointments become available and hopefully help secure them quickly.
We can also take your contract information and reach out to you as we see appointments become available.
Right now we are prioritizing residents that are age 75 or older so please only call if you are eligible or calling on behalf of someone that is.
Your health and safety are of the utmost importance to us as we work closely with our Public Health Nurse, Health Agent, First Responders and the Department of Public Health.
Please visit Nahant.org, nahantcovid19.com, or Nahant’s Town Hall Facebook page for updates and the latest information.
Thank you and stay safe
