French link binding is a classic option to create an open spine book. This particular stitch creates a beautiful, twisted thread section on the visible spine. In this workshop you will create a one-of-a-kind book using decorative papers bound together using the French Link stitch. All experience levels welcome.

Instructor and bio: Laura Beyer is a multimedia artist working primarily in printmaking and book arts. She graduated with her BFA from Albion College (Albion, MI), and her MFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She works as an arts educator at the College for Creative Studies, Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, and Signal Return, and teaches workshops in printmaking and bookbinding throughout Metro Detroit. Her work is in collections of several colleges/universities and the Detroit Institute of the Arts.
