About the workshop
This taster workshop is exclusively for newcomers who are not yet members of the Great Debaters Club training programme and would like to sample a training workshop and learn more about the club before deciding whether or not to join.
You will learn about the 3Ps of applied debating - Philosophy Position Presentation - that will help you to turn personal opinions into convincing arguments. You will be given exercises to complete in small groups and take part in mock debates in larger groups to help you learn how to think on your feet while speaking in public.
You will also receive feedback throughout the day, both from your peers in group discussions and from your trainer during the mock debates, to help you monitor your own progress and gain some insight into how your debating style is perceived by others.
