Schedule: Mar 20, 2021 — 12pm - 2pm (PT);
1pm - 3pm (MT); 2pm - 4pm (CT); 3pm - 5pm (ET)
In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of creating two single section hardcover books. Students will learn to sew decorative link/chain stitch with attached hardcovers, followed a five-hole pamphlet with decorative end sheets and a full cloth case. Students will leave this session with two completed bindings and all the tools needed to make hardcover books on a larger scale. These bindings are an excellent option for artist books, slim journals, or notebooks, and are essential structures for the book artist's toolkit.
Students in this class will be provided with a descriptive handout and materials list in advance of the class to allow students to bind along with the instructor during the demonstration.
This is an online class. Information about participating by zoom will be sent to all participants in advance. We encourage you to enroll early so you can gather the materials and supplies and work along during the class.
