The event will focus on the interrelation and interconnection between online extremism and offline terrorism, and will include discussion of issues that member states, tech companies, experts and practitioners are encountering. The event will include member states representatives, tech companies representatives, UN experts and civil society practitioners. It will aim to present current multilateral and multistakeholder initiatives that focus on this relationship such as GIFCT (Global Internet for on Combating Terrorism), Europol's European Union Internet Referral Unit, GAADHE (Global Alliance Against Digital Hate and Extremism). This aligns with the themes and focuses of the high-level conference and the counter-terrorism week, as it is a current as well as emerging trend which requires multi-stakeholder responses and capacity building programs.Â
