This binding is a modified version of Keith Smith’s Long Stitch as found in his Non-Adhesive Binding: Books Without Paste or Glue (page 123). This version of the long stitch was developed by Carolee for five different editions of her Ninja Press books. In this version, not only does the book lie flat at every opening, but there is no space seen between each section as they are sewn into and out of a single hole which draws the sections tightly together. The sections will be sewn into a handmade paper cover. Options will also be shown to bind the text between boards. The technique can be used with a slender or thick-width spine.
Workshop Fees: GBW CA Chapter member $75.00, non-member $125.00. Additional $20.00 materials fee paid to instructor at the workshop. Workshop maximum is 6.
