In this one-day workshop you will learn two different crossed structure binding techniques. The crossed structure binding was created and developed by Carmencho Arregui, an Italian binder, and has become a popular binding structure due to its many decorative possibilities and its non-adhesive qualities. In this workshop, you will start by making a blank book with a paper cover using a variation of the crossed structure binding process. The second book will be made using the limp-leather cover technique. Discussion during the workshop will center around the history and development of these technique.
