This course will provide instruction for making paper structures with moving parts, including radial hinges for rotating elements, sliding window elements, a cascading rotary structure that reveals hidden images or text when activated, and a scroll mounted in a box viewed through a window. You will make some of these animated structures and receive detailed assembly drawings and a CD containing laser cutting templates to use on your own projects, as well as a list of sources for parts and materials. Course will also include a brief introduction to free computer aided design software that is helpful in creating works to be laser cut.
