Concept
Artist books combine text, imagery, and sculpture; transforming an intangible idea into physical form. This workshop will lead you from simple folded and sewn pages to both multi-section books and more complex experimental structures. You will gain a solid foundation in traditional bookbinding using only hand tools.
Experience
Each day you will explore one traditional and one modern book structure, emphasizing both craft and content. The final day will be reserved for refining technique and using your range of book models as a springboard to create a new, innovative structure. During this information-packed workshop, you will build the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to continue making books in your own studio.
