Book of the Month Club II-Jacob's Ladder Book (Bainbridge Island, WA)
The Jacob’s Ladder artists’ book structure is borrowed from a folk toy traditionally made of blocks of wood held together with ribbons. The structure is held from one end and allowed to dangle vertically. When the block being held is tilted, the remaining blocks flip over in succession, producing a cascading visual effect. The Jacob's Ladder structure is an old one, but just as much fun and as full of amazement as it was when it was brand new. You'll use images from old books to create a two sided book whose pages flip over, using ribbons, book board, and your imagination!
Please Note: This class series is is normally held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. However, this month is different...it is being held on the fourth Thursday due to scheduling conflicts.

Instructors: MJ Linford has been a professional book artist for over 20 years, under the press name Bad Girl Press. She also works with three other women under the press name Full Plate Press. Her books are in selected museums, libraries and collections nationwide, and can be seen in the book arts room at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
