Throughout the centuries, people have used books to express and convey the vast spectrum of human experience. Books can contain information, stories, pictures, secrets, ideas in the making, folk tales, and more. Boxes are another kind of container, and can protect, preserve, present, hide, or augment the expression of their contents. In this series, you will learn the basics of both book-craft and box-making using a variety of papers and adhesives to create unique and expressive objets d’art. Conventional supplies such as book-board and silk brocade book-cloth will be supplemented with unique materials, including toy animals, papyrus, found bits of wood, and a miniature picnic table and benches.
