Starting with a book block, students will add padding compound to the spine that binds the pages together. Then, they will cover the front and back covers with decorative papers. To finish, a strong 4” strap of paper will connect front to back, wrapping around the spine. The book will measure 2-1/2” x 6-3/4”. The advantage of a pad glue book is that you can tear a page from it without damaging the book. Students may make additional books during this session. This is a fun and quick method of designing an artful book that makes a delightful gift.
