Using mostly a simple zigzag folded sheet of paper, you will learn to make a myriad of creative artistic books. In this workshop you will start with a basic accordion with a wrap around cover. Expanding on this (no pun intended) you will learn folio attachment methods, cloth hinges, and “false” accordions. You will also explore sophisticated pop-up accordions, while making various shapes, including some with paper dolls. In addition you will construct a Leporello book which is a pleat style fold, sometimes referred to as a concertina book. You will find that non-adhesive accordion books are versatile enough for almost any book arts project.
