Open Spine Bookbinding (Llandysul, Wales, UK)
Create a beautiful A5 (portrait format) book with hardback covers and a decorative stitched spine. Bind your book with a choice of papers and stitch the open spine with a combination of coloured tapes and threads. We’ll be using good quality, acid free cartridge and in just one day Carole will teach you all the necessary techniques to create a beautiful volume of your own design.
• One day of professional bookmaking tuition
• All materials required to make your open spine book are included in the course fee
• A spacious work area is allocated to each student along with their own set of tools to use while they are here
• A plentiful supply of tea, coffee and afternoon cake is provided. Bring or buy your own lunch.

Instructor: Carole King is a bookbinder. From her rural stone barn studio she works through a wide variety of media including painting, printmaking and bookbinding. Her artists’ books include tunnel books, coptic bound and casebound hardbacks.
