The Senior School Inter-House Athletics Carnival will take place on Thursday 31 July. This is a much-anticipated event in the College calendar and a wonderful opportunity for students to come together in the spirit of Courage, Compassion and Commitment.
The carnival encourages students to participate with enthusiasm, take pride in their House, and celebrate the achievements of our top athletes. Whether competing or supporting, every student plays a vital role in making the day a success.
You can view and download the full program via the College Calendar here, and it will also be linked in this week’s E-News.
Key Information for Families and Students
Attendance and Participation
Attendance is compulsory for all students. Participation in either the major or minor carnival is expected and forms part of the graduation requirements for Senior School students. Students who are not competing are expected to assist with the running of the event. If your child is unable to attend or participate, please provide a written explanation to the House Community Coordinator prior to the event.
Uniform
Students are to wear their College sports uniform with House shirt, running shoes (not Vans or skate-style shoes), and College cap.
Students competing in pre-carnival events may wear their tracksuit over their House uniform on the day of their event.
Food and Drink
Students should have a sensible breakfast before arriving.
Please bring a large water bottle clearly labelled with your name (no glass bottles).
The Cafeteria will be closed all day for Senior School students.
Students must bring their own recess and lunch from home.
Snacks (e.g. popcorn, cookies and more) will be available for purchase, ranging from $0.50 to $2.50 cash only
Medical
Please ensure your child’s medical and emergency details are up to date.
If medication is required during the day (including asthma inhalers), students should inform their Homeroom teacher and keep medication in their sports bag in the House bay. Students with medication stored at Student Services may access it as usual.
Facilities and Livestream
Parents attending the carnival may use the Chapel toilets.
Students will use the Sadler toilets.
A coffee van will be available for parents and staff (not students).
For families unable to attend, a livestream link will be available on the day to capture glimpses of the action. You can access this link by logging in to the calendar and access it here.
We look forward to seeing our students live out the College values and support one another with energy and heart.
